Fall Festival
Last weekend we had the opportunity to be with one of our supporting churches in Glen Burnie, MD. They were having their annual Fall Festival. We jumped at the chance to participate--who wouldn't be excited about a day filled with festival games, balloon animals, horse rides, cotton candy and popcorn?! We were able to spend the day migrating from one activity to another, filling in for tired workers who needed a break. Elizabeth spent almost two hours making cotton candy--a new talent she is excited to have, but not anxious to use again any time in the future.
This church is very close to Baltimore, MD, so there are a lot of people to reach with the gospel message in their community. The church provided all these activities (and more) in addition to a magic show with a gospel presentation. We had a great turn out! The exact numbers escape me, but the church was very pleased to see the amount of people who came out. It was such a beautiful day, and God definetely blessed their efforts. The church is excited to follow up with all their visitors.
During the past week we have been very busy visiting with pastors in New York and Pennsylvania. We traveled all day Tuesday-Thursday and had the opportunity to talk with eight pastors to tell them about our ministry with CBM and inquire about meetings with their church bodies next year. The meetings went tremendously well and we praise the Lord for that. We also praise the Lord for keeping us safe on the road--especially on the ridiculous roads in Northern Pennsylvania!
Each curve and hill made us thankful for the straight, flat roads back home in Iowa!
Next Sunday (November 16th) is our last presentation out East. We will start traveling home on Monday the 17th, and, Lord willing, we will pull into our driveway in Marshallown, IA on the evening of November 18th. We won't stay there for long, however. We are due in Marysville, KS on the evening of the 19th. Please continue to pray for our strength and health as we travel, as well as our safety.
Check out our pictures posted on our website photo gallery. You will see pictures from our day at the Fall festival and from a highschool football game we attended in Dover, DE this last Friday.
