Thankful.
We've never been so happy to be home! The Lord has mercifully kept us safe over the course of the last 2 1/2 months on the road. We have traveled 9,060 miles and spent 193 hours in our van. Our deputation ministry is so different from what our next full time ministry will be as missionary builders with CBM. While we now live out of our suitcases, spend many nights in different people's homes and share the same message every Sunday with new people; we look forward to the day when we will move into our 5th-wheel trailer and have the chance to actively minister in one church for longer periods of time.
I guess the thing that sticks out the most and what we are most thankful for as we look back on our trip is the safety that God gave us on the road. We know there were at least a couple of times where the Lord kept us from accidents and out of harm's way. We also praise the Lord for allowing our van to run well throughout the trip.
This Thanksgiving we thank the Lord not only for a warm house to come home to (thanks to our wonderful church family), we also praise Him for the healing He has brought into our hearts over the last year as we have missed our son. As we celebrated our son's day of birth on August 28th, we marveled to see how different we were and how much healing the Lord has brought to us over the course of a year's time. Thank you God for hearts that can feel better while still missing our son.
We also thank the Lord for new life. Three days before Collin's birthday we found out that we are expecting our next child. This precious new one is due on May 6th. Please pray with us for a healthy and safe pregnancy and for hearts that trust in God's care for the baby and for Elizabeth.
We are always thankful for family and friends and for all of you out there who remember us in prayer and support us financially. We praise the Lord for allowing us to know each one of you and the partnership that the Lord has developed with each of you as you remember us and participate in the ministry that God has so graciously called us to do. Thank you Lord for finding us worthy to suffer for your sake, to live a life dedicated to full time ministry and to love you in this life and the next.
