Our prayer team
Last night we got to meet with our prayer team again. We meet monthly, every third Thursday of the month at 7:00 at our house (the parsonage.) Before you panic thinking that it's already the third Thursday of December, let me tell you that this month we moved it up to the second Thursday of the month so that it didn't conflict with too many Christmas plans. We haven't been able to meet with our team since August because we were gone on our deputation trip. It was such a blessing to have us all together again in one place to pray and give thanks to the Lord for bringing us together again. There were some people missing last night, but we still had a good group.
Since this was our December meeting, we had hot drinks for everyone in our kitchen. They could choose from spice tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino, coffee or something cool to drink too if they wanted. Andy loves hot drinks, so he likes to share with people when he can. I usually go for water--like always.
When we meet together, we usually use that time to update our prayer partners on things that we might not have time to expound on otherwise. We had a lot to report last night. We gave them several specific prayer requests and also took some time to relay to them how the Lord has been blessing. The big prayer requests were several churches that we know are considering us for support in the coming months and also our pregnancy--we are now 19 weeks along. Some exciting news to report was that we are now up to 62% of our support and before we left on our trip we were at 53%! That means that since August the Lord has given us 9% of our need! We praised the Lord as a group for that blessing.
After our time of prayer, I requested that they all stick around for a group picture so that I could share it with you all. Like I said, there were some people missing, so that picture doesn't include everyone, but at least you can see most of the group. They are such a blessing to us! We ALWAYS enjoy meeting with them for prayer as we ask them to join us in bringing our concerns and praises to the Lord: the Giver and Sustainer of all.
Last night we had an apple dumpling dessert provided by Andy's mom for after our prayer time. Some of us enjoyed munching on that while the fellowship was enjoyed by all. We praise the Lord for those who support us in prayer, whether we are able to physically meet together or not! Thank you for praying! The Lord is answering your prayers!
