A Hunting We Will Go!

Well, it's that time of year!  Andy has been anxiously waiting all year to get back out into the freezing Iowa weather in order to bring home the meat!  Andy is just one of many men who have taken up the ever popular sport of hunting.  This time of the year, he is hunting deer.  This is muzzle loader season, and it ends this Saturday (as I have heard, although you shouldn't be trusting me as your only source for hunting information).  Andy bought two tags this year (that means he can shoot two deer).  He likes to go hunting with some friends from church in Tama county as well as with his dad in Marshall county.  This last autumn Andy was able to help his dad in constructing a nice deer stand for their use on a friend's property.  It's one of those things that men can so easily get excited about!  We women have our things too, I guess.  So far Andy's been able to go out hunting four times, but he has yet to come home excited with news of a kill.   Hopefully this week will be better for him and he will be able to shoot something.  This is a fun hobby for Andy, but it also provides our meat for the entire year.  We both like venison, so that makes it a worthwhile hobby for him!

On another note, Andy was unable to travel this last Sunday due to icy road conditions here in central and northern Iowa.  He only had an hour and a half drive on Sunday morning, but the roads were so bad that they made any trip (long or short) treacherous!  Andy managed to do two 360 degree turns on his way home from hunting on Saturday night in his 4-wheel-drive truck.  We are thankful God kept him safe!  The meeting last Sunday was a revisit for us.  It was a church that already hosted us about a year and a half ago, and we were looking forward to seeing them again, but it just wasn't worth the risk.  Hopefully we will be able to go back and visit another time.  Lord willing, we will continue on with our scheduled meetings in the coming weeks when we travel to Norwalk and Dike, Iowa.

Everything continues to go well with us otherwise!  Andy is gearing up to start calling pastors again to seek meetings to fill out this year.  We continue to pray that by the end of this year we will be on the mission field full time!  We look forward to how the Lord will work things out in our ministry endeavors this year!

Thanks for reading!  Another post next week!
