We are at Iowa Methodist Hospital!

I (Andy) will try to keep you all updated well and often on how we are doing.  We very much appreciate all your prayers. For those who are not up to date on what has been going on, I will start at the beginning.  Last Monday the 12th, Elizabeth and I went to the ER to check out a concern we had.  It was at this time that we found that Her cirvix was a little shorter, but still plenty long, however her outer cirvix was soft and she was slightly dilated.  At this point the Doctor put Elizabeth on bedrest at home.  We had our next Doctors appointment this last Friday the 16th.  Checking out the cirvix this time we found that the cirvix was significantly shorter about 1/3 of the lengh it was on Monday.  At this point we were taken to the hospital next door to check for contractions.  We thank the Lord there was none, and to this moment she still has not felt any.  This is a huge praise!!  However at this hospital in Ames Elizabeth had over a 100 degree temp.  This concerned the doctors that Elizabeth was fighting an infection, which could I guess mean the baby might be doing the same.  So they transfered us to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.  We feel that we are in good hands here, they are experienced in premature births here.  We arrived here about 8 PM Friday night exhausted but very hopeful.
Today (Saturday) has been pretty uneventful,  This evening we are going to consult with the high risk pregnancy doctor, and do a test of some sort to see if Elizabeth's body is looking like it is going to go into labor or not.  This is not a sure test, but it does give a direction I guess.   We really have no idea yet how long we will be in the hospital, it all depends on how God works.  We will update tonight or tomorrow on how things go tonight.  We know that God is in control - and with that we are at peace.  Thank you for all your prayers.

Andy

    Elizabeth and Andy,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so thankful to know that you are most importantly in God's hands and also that He has you where you need to be at this time.
    I'm still breathing deeply, Elizabeth.
Love to all 3 of you.
