Last hurdle cleared!

We feel blessed to be 34 weeks along in the pregnancy today!  This is the last milestone that I feel I needed to reach in this pregnancy.  Now that we are 34 weeks, we can say for sure that we are delivering in Ames--where we originally were going to deliver the baby.  Had I gone into labor and delivered before 34 weeks, I would have had to go to Des Moines, where they handle very premature babies.  The hospital in Ames is equipped to handle babies born after 34 weeks.

Just to be safe, the doctor wants me to stay on bedrest for another week, but has reassured me that 99% of babies born at this stage gestationally do perfectly fine with little to no complications.  So, I am kind of getting up a little more this week.  Maybe taking another lap around the kitchen or sitting up more--just to get my body used to more activity.  I'm not doing anything too ambitious, but it feels good to be up more.  I'll still wait another week until I start some light activity like, cooking, dusting, folding laundry or standing up while getting ready for the day.

I had another shot yesterday to prevent premature labor.  I have to get those until I am 36 weeks, so only two more of those!  Everything is winding down to an end, and I am getting very anxious and excited!  Andy continues to do a good job at getting the nursery ready and washing all the baby's clothes, etc.  We have plans to try to go to the mall here in town and pick out a "going home" outfit for the baby whenever I can get up next week.  I don't know how I'll do with that.  I honestly think walking even that short distance will wear me out!  But, we'll see.

Andy's meeting in Montevideo, MN went well last weekend.  I'm always glad when he gets home safely and I haven't had any emergencies.  My mom stayed with me while he was gone overnight.  We had a fun time talking and watching a movie.  We will always remember our pre-baby sleepover!

That's all to report for now!  Thank you all for your prayers over my last 3 months of bedrest!!  We're so blessed to have your prayer support.  I'll write next week and let you know what I think about being vertical!

How wonderful! 34 weeks is great. I am so amazed at you to do so well on bedrest for the past 3 months.

Nolan was a 35 weeker and they were surprised how well he did. And with the altitude here it was amazing. I know that soon your time of being pregnant will be over and you will start a whole new chapter of having that little one at home. It will be wonderful!

Thanks for the updates. I love to follow how well you and baby are doing.

It did make me laugh to read about wanting to dush and fold laundry. Those are things I am avoiding. Well and cleaning in general. Oh goodness...

We attend Praire Flower Baptist Church. It was so good to have Andy in our services! I read the progress every few days and we are praying that the weeks begin to add up so your baby will be born healthy. Looking forward to hearing when God's Little Miracle will make his way into the word.
