Baby Hope
We have a new little one in our family! Praise the Lord our niece (and Judah's cousin) Hope Malowyn Demarest arrived on Monday, November 16th at 5:59 pm. She was a healthy 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 20 in. long. She has lots of beautiful dark hair and tends to resemble her Daddy's side of the family (at this early stage). Of course, we are most thankful to the Lord for allowing my sister, Deborah, to carry Hope to full term. Deborah made it to 38 weeks, and actually ended up needed to be induced. God not only sustained my sister's pregnancy, but allowed her and her husband to welcome a wonderfully healthy baby girl into their family! Thank you, God!
I was praying that God would allow me to be in Iowa when baby Hope was born so that I could go be with my sister soon afterward. After staying by Deborah's side during her first delivery experience with her first daughter (who passed away shortly after birth), it was important to me to be with her again for her second child. I knew God would make this experience a better one for her, and I wanted to be there. God allowed us to not only be in Iowa, but in the hospital waiting room as Hope made her entry into the world. I was able to hold Hope shortly after her birth, just as I held her older sister, Grace, almost two years ago. I remember Grace taking a small little breath as I held her--something so very special! As I held Hope, she rested comfortably and then took a small deep breath, just as Grace had. It made me cry to think about how God provided me the chance to hold both girls and to also see God's wonderful work in giving life to both of them. We thank God that Hope made it safely here, full term, and we pray she has a long and healthy life in front of her!
You can pray for Hope to continue eating well. Pray also for my sister, Deborah, and her husband, Luke, as they learn how to be parents to such a tiny little life and provide for her in spite of the weariness most new parents feel! Thank you to those of you who have kept her pregnancy in your prayers over the last 9 months!
